Modeling vibrating panels excited by a non-homogeneous turbulent boundary layer

چکیده
Predicting the vibration response of an elastic structure excited by a turbulent flow is interest for civil and military transportation sector. The models proposed in literature are generally based on assumption that boundary layer (noted TBL following) exciting spatially homogeneous. However, this not always fulfilled practice, particular when area close to starting point or with curved structures. To overcome issue, work proposes extend two approaches used dealing homogeneous TBL, namely spatial wavenumber approaches. extension approach non-homogeneous excitation relatively straightforward gives us reference, however costly computation. On contrary, extending requires more developments assumptions have led authors develop sub-area decomposition technique (SDT). It consists partitioning several sub-areas, assuming pressure field each neglecting certain interactions between sub-areas. A criterion size as function minimum wavelength wall basis numerical calculations. test case plate varying thickness growing allows highlight: (1) SDT compared classical calculation considering TBL; (2) efficiency terms computing time approach.

Turbulent Boundary-Layer Separation
This article summarizes our present understanding of the physical behavior of two-dimensional turbulent separated flows, which occur due to adverse pressure gradients around streamlined and bluff bodies. The physical behavior of turbulence is flow dependent, so detailed experimental infor mation is needed for understanding such flows and modeling their physics for calculation methods. An earli...
متن کاملTurbulent boundary layer equations
We study a boundary layer problem for the Navier-Stokes-alpha model obtaining a generalization of the Prandtl equations conjectured to represent the averaged flow in a turbulent boundary layer. We solve the equations for the semi-infinite plate, both theoretically and numerically. The latter solutions agree with some experimental data in the turbulent boundary layer.
متن کاملReceptivity and non-uniqueness of turbulent boundary layer flows
The classical theory of firmly attached time-mean turbulent boundary layers, exhibiting fully developed broadband turbulence, in the limit of large Reynolds numbers, Re, is extended in two ways, where the focus lies on their stability and receptivity. At first, the description of non-unique equilibrium flows having a so-called moderately large velocity deficit is generalised as weak spanwise va...
متن کاملA Novel Similarity Solution of Turbulent Boundary Layer Flow over a Flat Plate
In this paper, the similarity solution of turbulent boundary layer flow on the flat plate with zero pressure gradients is presented. By employing similarity variables the governing partial differential equations are transformed to ordinary ones with inconsistent coefficients and solved numerically with the use of Runge–Kutta and shooting methods in conjunction with trial and error procedure. Fo...
متن کاملFlow induced by a randomly vibrating boundary
We study the flow induced by random vibration of a solid boundary in an otherwise quiescent fluid. The analysis is motivated by experiments conducted under the low level and random effective acceleration field that is typical of a microgravity environment. When the boundary is planar and is being vibrated along its own plane, the variance of the velocity field decays as a power law of distance ...
